Digital Underground: Future Rhythm (1996)

digital underground future rhythm

By Scott Goldfine

Rap entity Digital Underground reappears after a three-year absence with their fourth album, the marginal “Future Rhythm.” The aggregate of rappers and musicians, led by the comical Humpty Hump, continue the decline of creativity exhibited on their last outing.

However, if one perseveres though the disc’s mundane first half, some of the old funky fun surfaces on “Hokis Pokis” and “Hella Bump.”
