Grateful Dead: Hundred Year Hall (1995)

dead hundred year hall

By Scott Goldfine

The legacy of Jerry Garcia lives on as this double-CD, recorded in Germany in 1972, kicks off a series of 15 Grateful Dead releases to be issued by Arista. The band is in peak form here, fusing rock, bluegrass, folk and blues with a free-form jazz mentality.

The set suffers from poor fidelity, but that shouldn’t deter Deadheads ― who are accustomed to rough bootleg recordings ― from lapping it up.
