By Scott Goldfine

Blues-rocker Jimmie Vaughan, older brother of the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan and former member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, soaks up the limelight in his solo debut “Strange Pleasure.” With producer Nile Rodgers looking on, the singer-guitarist has turned in a competent set of blues imbued with touches of doo wop and big band.

But Vaughan’s limited talent keeps the LP from being memorable.
