Neil Young: Broken Arrow (1996)

Garage-rock icon Neil Young, who enlisted Pearl Jam for last year’s fabulous “Mirror Ball,” reteams with longtime cohorts Crazy Horse on the mesmerizing “Broken Arrow.” Young has a tough time maintaining the momentum of the three epic opening songs, but the balance, including a bootleg-quality version of Jimmy Reed’s “Baby What You Want Me to Do,” is solid enough to carry the album throughout.
