Pearl Jam: Vitalogy (1995)

pearl jam vitalogy

By Scott Goldfine

The third album from Seattle quarter Pearl Jam falls somewhere between their previous two, meaning it’s flawed but still one of the stronger rock releases of 1994. Placing more emphasis on punk aggression, Beatlesque melodies and quirky experimentation, sullen lead singer Eddie Vedder and company rage through a set of tunes dealing with disillusionment.

A fascinating but uneven effort.
