Prince: Chaos and Disorder (1996)

prince chaosBy Scott Goldfine

Less than a year after his dazzling “The Gold Experience,” the Artist Formerly Known as Prince has delivered the guitar-driven “Chaos and Disorder.” This highly charged 11-track album is TAFKAP’s most straight-ahead rock work, harkening back, aside from a few new wrinkles, to “Purple Rain.”

But the brevity of the songs and cheap packaging makes it feel less substantial than classic Prince.
