Private Parts (1996)

You don’t have to be a fan of shock jock Howard Stern to enjoy this engaging and very funny adaptation of his bestselling autobiography. The film conveys an awkward New York teenager who finds love, himself, and massive fame and fortune as an outrageous radio personality.

Stern’s abrasive, obnoxious persona is subverted by his self-depreciation and director Betty Thomas’ deft touch. Also stars Paul Giamatti and Allison Janney. Rated R.
