Brought to you by FUNKNSTUFF.NET and hosted by Scott Goldfine — musicologist and author of “Everything Is on THE ONE: The First Guide of Funk” ― “TRUTH IN RHYTHM” is the interview show that gets DEEP into the pocket with contemporary music’s foremost masters of the groove.

Featured in TIR Episode 110 (Part 1 of 2): Singer, trumpeter, composer and producer Skip Martin, best known for his sensational work with one of the 1980s’ most prolific funk, dance and R&B acts, the mighty Dazz Band! And as if that was not impressive enough, when things slowed down a bit for the Dazz Band in the late 1980s, he recorded and performed with the legendary Kool & the Gang. Martin ended up spending 20 years with that group, and for the final 10 he did double duty as a member of both Dazz and KTG. In addition, he has released several of his own albums.

Martin shows no signs of slowing down as he is currently working on multiple projects, as well as touring and performing with the Dazz Band.
