baddest love jams

By Scott Goldfine

The thirst for vintage R&B continues as Motown enters the “old-school” sweepstakes with the three-volume series “Baddest Love Jams.” Each disc ― “Quiet Storm,” “Fire and Desire” and “After the Dance” — features 15 mellow songs by favorites such as Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Rick James.

The set would be more appealing if there weren’t similar collections available not limited to one label.
