War: Peace Sign (1994)

war peace signBy Scott Goldfine

War, one of the premier pop and funk bands of the 1970s, has ended 15 years of aimless floundering with an unexpectedly solid album. The band returns to the Latin-tinged rhythms and positive messages that marked their prime, resulting in more than an hour’s worth of vibrant music.

The title track exemplifies War’s penchant for catchy hooks that rattle around in your brain indefinitely.
