ZZ Top: Recycler (1990)

zz top recycler

By Scott Goldfine

Blues boogie trio ZZ Top ends a prolonged layoff with the retro-tinged “Recycler.” This disc is a welcome return to the band’s more raw approach as evidenced by songs like “My Head’s in Mississippi,” which recalls the classic “La Grange.” Despite their five-year sabbatical, these Texans haven’t forgotten how to rock.

However, while this album doesn’t disappoint, it doesn’t exceed expectations either.
