The teaming of AC/DC with maverick producer Rick Rubin piqued the prospect of the realization of the definitive work from the veteran Australian hard-rockers. While “Ballbreaker” falls well short of that aspiration, it is another solid assemblage of bare-bones guitar riffs form the reliable Angus Young and company.
However, after a five-year absence, a little more ambition would have been nice.
