“Shades of Two Worlds,” the Allman Brothers Band’s second album since reforming a couple of years ago, proves that Southern rock isn’t dead yet. Paced by Gregg Allman’s gritty vocals and the nimble fretwork of guitarists Dickey Betts and Warren Haynes, the group cooks on boogies, blues and even jazz.
The LP’s closing track, the acoustic-oriented “Come on Into My Kitchen,” is especially pleasing.
