The world’s top assassin (Sylvester Stallone) is pursued by a rival hitman (Antonio Banderas) while attempting a final job before retiring in this well-made action flick. The assassin and his “mark” end up joining forces against the contractor who wants them both dead.
The story is slight and hazy, but director Richard Donner (“Lethal Weapon”) lends a sure touch and Banderas has good energy. Scripted by the Wachowski brothers (Andy and Lana, then Larry) and Brian Helgeland, and also starring Julianne Moore.
