Sharon Stone is bewitching as a wealthy novelist suspected of murder in this provocative, Hitchcockian thriller from director Paul Verhoeven (“Total Recall”). Michael Douglas also stars as a sullied cop, who captivated by Stone, tries to unravel the bizarre mysteries swirling around her.
“Instinct,” which contains graphic violence, nudity and lesbianism, is a cut above the average genre piece.
