Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin team up in dual roles as two pairs of mismatched twins in this wacky comedy. Midler, as usual, steals scenes with her wicked flamboyance. As a result, Tomlin gets somewhat lost in the shuffle.
The film is plagued by a hopelessly silly plot, but it does have many funny moments. And if you can swallow the implausibility, you’re in for a good time. Fred Ward also stars. Rated PG.
