This high-spirited movie about Jamaica’s first Olympic bobsled team is thoroughly enjoyable family fare. The tale follows four young Jamaican athletes who convince a dishonored medalist, played to perfection by John Candy, to coach them into the 1988 Winter Games.
This is a stand-up-and-cheer film that’s funny, inspirational and leaves out the usual dollops of sappiness. Rated PG.
