A pair of cops (including Jack Palance) stake out a criminal from a neighboring middle American family’s house in the lame comedy “Cops and Robbersons.” The officers try to cope with the Robbersons’ minor traumas and dad Chevy Chase’s clumsy attempts to be part of their team while ferreting out a counterfeiter.
This unfunny, predictable Michael Ritchie-directed film isn’t likely to lift Chase’s sagging career and takes down everyone else, including Dianne Wiest and Robert Davi with it. Rated PG.
