Former Talking Heads guru David Byrne has yielded his first straight-ahead rock album since splitting from the fame alternative band in the late 1980s. This self-titled effort finds the nasal, whining singer-songwriter delving inward with songs that dwell on love, death and other human conditions.
It’s not quite as much fun as a Heads release, but certainly solid enough to warrant a listen.
