Renowned acoustic guitarist Earl Klugh incorporates some Latin elements into his pop-jazz approach on “Midnight in San Juan.” Klugh is an adept player, but his subtle technique demands sound composing ― a virtue he only sporadically exhibits.
The festive “Mobimientos Del Alma” and the melodic “Jamaican Winds” charm, but half of the album’s eight numbers suffer from timid anonymity.
