Extreme, the rock quartet that mined platinum with its sophomore effort, “Pornografitti,” is back with “III Sides to Every Story.” This grandiose undertaking, equivalent to a double LP, is presented in political, introspective and spiritual parts. Influenced by Queen and the Beatles, the band is best on hook-heavy songs like “Rest in Peace.”
Elsewhere their ambitions lean toward pretension.
