Now on a new label, L.A.’s rowdy purveyors of rock-ska-funk fusion, Fishbone, have ended a three-year silence with their typically outrageous fifth album, “Chim Chim’s Badass Revenge.” Listeners who endure the quintet’s silliness and scatological obsessions will be rewarded with some socially insightful lyrics and a torrent of musical power.

Best is the Funkadelic-like “Psychologically Overcast.” Oh, and for those not in the know, the title is an homage to the chimp sidekick in the animated “Speed Racer” series.
