The mood of George Michael’s “Older,” his first album since 1990, reflects the musician’s bitter battle with the corporate music world. The 11 songs express loss, betrayal and isolation — a far cry from fun hits like “Faith” and “I Want Your Sex.”
Unfortunately, aside from the bebop undercurrents of “Spinning the Wheel” and the lively soul of “Star People,” much of the music misses.
