The latest from Spike Lee is a miserably misfired comedy about an aspiring young actress (Theresa Randle) who works odd jobs to make ends meet, including phone sex. Ultimately, “Girl 6” becomes immersed in the artificial world of phone sex, excluding the more tangible aspects of her life.
Lee, in his worst film to date, has forgotten the need to develop characters and tell a story coherently. One plus: songs by Prince! Also features Debi Mazar, Peter Berg and Michael Imperioli.
