Hammer doing gangsta rap? What’s next, Ozzy Osbourne doing gospel? The Village People doing the blues? Barney doing grunge? It’s true Hammer manages to achieve some credibility on a few of the 16 tracks found on his fourth album, “The Funky Headhunter.” But those cuts succeed more on production savvy than on Hammer’s trivial, mundane rapping.
He’s still a good dancer though . . .
