What would happen if a seven-year-old boy was accidentally left at home by himself for the holidays? Not a whole lot if this comedy from the John Hughes (writer) mill is any indication. Despite a top-flight cast ― anchored by young Macaulay Culkin — this far-fetched film clinks along inducing scant audible laughs.
This Chris Columbus-directed movie’s best moments are found in the trailer. Also stars Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as hapless burglars, as well as John Heard, Catherine O’Hara and John Candy. Rated PG.
