Gene Hackman is a deputy D.A. assigned to transport a witness (Anne Archer) from Canada to Los Angeles in this suspense yarn from writer/director Peter Hyams. Most of the action takes place on a passenger train, where Hackman attempts to hide and protect Archer from a mobster’s assassins.
Fine acting and Hyams’ apt touch make this thriller enjoyable. Also stars J.T. Walsh and M. Emmet Walsh. Rated R.
