P.M. Dawn has been labeled as a rap act ever since the New Jersey-based duo first burst onto the scene a few years back. But on their third album, “Jesus Wept,” the group has completed the transition to a category-defying sound that combines the spirit of alternative music with a pop consciousness.
An airy quality and mystical lyrics permeate what is an ambitious work of uncommon craft.
