Seductive British singer Sade has been away from the music scene for four years, but her new album finds her treading in familiar waters. Minimalist jazzy arrangements cradle her signature warm, breathy vocals as she croons about true love and perseverance.
It’s all very soothing, but the LP’s subdued nature precludes a deep emotional connection. The bubbling “Kiss of Love” is a standout.
