Seattle-based rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot, who topped the pop chart in 1993 with “Baby Got Back, unfortunately tries too often to recapture the silly, techno-dance sound of that annoying hit on his new album. Mix’s distinctive, but tedious style and sophomoric lyrics don’t help matters either.
However, “Steppin’ With My Fonk,” featuring Flea on bass, is irresistible. Buy the single, skip the LP.
