Famed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar takes a break from his recent string of celebrated screwball comedies with the more dramatic “The Flower of My Secret.” The film tells the story of a successful but secretive romance novelist whose emotional world falls apart when her husband leaves her.
Fine performances and keen direction facilitate an intimate and affective connection with the audience.
