Director Vittorio De Sica’s 1971 Oscar-winning classic “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis” has been restored and rereleased. Set in Italy and based on a true story, it tells the heartbreaking story of a young, middle-class Jew and his association with a wealthy girl at the onset of World War II.
The film, beautifully shot and well-acted, shows how the evils of racism and fascism affect us all. Rated R.
