The makers of “Dawn of the Dead” (directors George Romero and Dario Argento) again dabble in the macabre with two Edgar Allen Poe-inspired tales. The first segment features Adrienne Barbeau in the familiar story of a woman scheming to cash in on the death of her husband. It’s plodding and routine.
The second story stars Harvey Keitel as a crime photographer who goes mad. This segment’s flawed as well, but offers nifty camera work and acting. E.G. Marshall, Kim Hunter and Martin Balsam also make appearances. Rated R.
