A restrained Eddie Murphy plays suave, unscrupulous womanizer Marquis Graham in this romantic comedy. A marketing executive for a cosmetics firm, Graham gets a taste of his own medicine from a sexy, equally calculating colleague (Robin Givens).
His transformation into a sensitive guy challenges believability, but the film’s strong supporting roles and often riotous humor gets it over the hump. This Reginald Hudlin-directed outing also stars Halle Berry, David Alan Grier, Martin Lawrence, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt and Chris Rock. Rated R.
