Wilford Brimley and Levon Helm star as two veteran Arkansas railroad workers who become unlikely heroes when they travel to Chicago in an attempt to keep the railroad from being shut down. At the core of the film is the theme of the common American worker vs. the vast bureaucracy that America has become.
The film, which also stars Kevin Bacon, is a slice of Americana that is well acted but tad on the full side. Clint Howard, Holly Hunter and Mary Steenburgen also climb aboard for the ride. Rated PG.
