Jim Carrey, Hollywood’s $20 million man, bounces back from last year’s disastrous “The Cable Guy” in fine form with this often uproarious comedy. In it, he plays an unscrupulous attorney who loses the ability to lie after his young son’s birthday wish comes true.
Director Tom Shadyac is just as successful with Carrey as he was in resurrecting Eddie Murphy’s career with “The Nutty Professor.” Also stars Cary Elwes and Jennifer Tilly. Rated PG-13.
