Minneapolis funksters Morris Day and the Time continued their comeback tour with a lively 80-minute concert at L.A.’s House of Blues Tuesday night. Day and valet Jerome Benton clowned and cavorted around, displaying the ultra-cool shtick that made them a sensation in the 1980s, while the band (featuring three new members) kept hits like “Jungle Love” taut and urgent.
Now, what about a new album? (Editor’s note: Under the name The Original 7ven, they finally delivered the spectacular album Condensate in 2011, ranking with their best.)
