Natalie Cole further advances the latest stage of her rejuvenated career with the follow-up to 1991’s Grammy-winning tribute to her father. The singer once again covers some of her famous dad’s material, as well as standards by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson and others.
Whether reinterpreting dreamy torch tunes or scatting away on frisky jazz numbers, Cole is on the money. Tragically, right around the time of preparing this for Funk N Stuff, she died December 2015 at just 65 years old. One of the finest vocalists of her generation, especially her 1970s material.
