Sting cuts loose with a quirky set of finely crafted pop on his fifth solo effort. As usual, the Englander has assembled a dandy troupe of players who execute his frequently novel and occasionally irreverent musical notions to perfection. The lyrical content is broad, curious and whimsical.
From the light funk of “Heavy Cloud, No Rain” to the delicate charm of “Shape of My Heart,” Sting excels.
