Big band, Latin and hip hop rhythms meet on the soundtrack to Jim Carrey’s comedy hit “The Mask.” The set — which includes songs by Tony Toni Tone, Harry Connick Jr., Vanessa Williams, Fishbone and Carrey ― is brash and brassy, but mostly uninspired and glaringly unauthentic.
The two ballads (Williams’ “Would You Be My Baby” and Susan Boyd’s “Gee Baby, Ain’t I Good to You”) fare the best.
