It took over 20 years to finance it, but director Leon Gast has finally brought this entrancing documentary of 1974’s Muhammad Ali–George Foreman heavyweight title fight in Zaire to theaters. With footage surrounding the Rumble in the Jungle and accounts from Norman Mailer and George Plimpton, the film illustrates the global impact of Ali and the event.
Good things are indeed worth waiting for. Music from the all-star concert (later made into its own film) featuring James Brown. among many others. that accompanied the fight adds to the impact and appeal of this historic spectacle. Rated PG.
