Veteran singer-guitarist Buddy Guy’s third album since ending a 10-year recording hiatus, “Slippin’ In,” is quite simply one of the best blues albums in recent memory. Backed by Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble rhythm section and legendary pianist Johnnie Johnson, Guy misfires just once on the LP’s 11 tracks.
Eric Clapton may get the press, but Guy is the authentic item.
