Pleasant but unengaging pop is what you’ll find on Chicago’s new LP “19.” The boys from the Windy City sport a new producer who gives them an overly slick wall-of-sound style that can’t mask the lack of catchy hooks. The goal was a harder-edged appeal, but this disc is likely to further cement their adult contemporary appeal.
