The very young and the very undemanding are the only people who will not be astounded by the idiocy and ineptitude of this film about a man (Matthew Modine) reincarnated as a golden retriever.
Troubled by memories of his human past, the canine seeks out the wife and son he left behind. The tail on the pooch is more involving than the one on the screen in this laughably bad, dog of a movie that also features Samuel L. Jackson, Nancy Travis, Eric Stoltz and Ron Perlman. Rated PG.
