Pierce Brosnan takes over as British superspy James Bond in a convoluted story having something to do with theft of a devastating Russian space weapon (“Goldeneye”) by a man obsessed with destroying London.
Brosnan is adequate as Agent 007 and the film is quite entertaining —despite its jumbled plot ― for about an hour. But it runs out of gas long before its two-plus hours are up. Also stars an Famke Janssen, Joe Don Baker and Judi Dench. Rated PG-13.
