Eddie Murphy writes, makes his directorial debut and co-stars with Richard Pryor in this “Sting”-like period comedy. Murphy plays Quick, Pryor’s adopted son. Together they take on a mobster trying to put them out of the gambling business.
It’s a joy to see Murphy and Pryor on screen together, and despite unevenness it’s an entertaining show. Also stars Redd Foxx, Danny Aiello, Michael Lerner and Della Reese. Rated R.
