Linda Ronstadt tips her hat to the great pop female singers and notable songwriters of the 1960s on her first commercial endeavor since 1989. Hindered by uninspired material and arrangements, this brief album gets off to a tepid start and never fully recovers.
But Ronstadt’s lovely, time-tested voice shines through on a few of the 11 tunes, including Goffin-King’s “Oh No, Not My Baby.”
