Diane Lane returns to the big screen in this quirky comedy about a wife whose life takes a radical departure after her husband buys her a gun. When Lane’s young, mysterious neighbor borrows the weapon it sets off a chain of events that include her romance with the neighbor while her husband is hospitalized.
This slow, puzzling film adds up to little and wastes Lane’s sharp performance. Philip Seymour Hoffman also makes an appearance. Rated R.
