Terry Garr is at her quirky best in this black comedy about a not-too-bright butcher (John Lithgow) who thinks he accidentally killed his boss. There are enough surprises to sustain interest, but Garr’s performance notwithstanding, the film fails to generate much suspense or humor.
The characters, which also include one played by Randy Quaid, are made artificially imbecilic for the sake of plot twists. Wait for the video. Rated R.
