Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s first feature descends into the realm of film noir. It stars Harvey Keitel as a member of a crime team whose jewel heist goes terribly awry. The details unfold through flashbacks as the gang holes up in an old warehouse.
Tarantino shows more flair for directing than writing here; his film offers amusing, offbeat humor, but is too violent and minor to add up to much. Also stars Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn and Steve Buscemi. Rated R.
